Travis

 12 Years Old

Qualities: Loves playing the guitar, loves animals and is kind hearted

Meet Travis…

Travis is a lovable 12-year-old who enjoys being with others. He thrives on spending quality time with his caregiver cooking and shopping. When Travis is not hanging out with his caregiver, he enjoys playing video games, the guitar and playing outside. He has a fondness for swimming, and has taken swimming lessons, but ongoing lessons would be beneficial…he loves the water! Travis recently began guitar lessons, which is a new endeavor.

What Others Say about Travis …

The current caregiver reported Travis does well with completing his morning and evening routines independently with reminders. Like most kids, Travis has a hard time doing chores and homework before play, but he is easily redirected. His current caregiver also reports that Travis is very kind hearted, loves animals and interacts well with his peers.

What You Can Do for Travis …

The family for Travis will need to provide ongoing extracurricular activities such as swimming and guitar, structure, routines and consistency. The family would need to have appropriate and realistic expectations specific for Travis, and exhibit patience with him as he learns new skills. The family will need to be able to advocate for him, especially in education, and meet his needs.

For those who submit an Inquiry Form expressing an interest in adopting a child listed in the Heart Gallery of Illinois, your form is submitted to the Adoption Inquiry Unit of the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services.  It is DCFS’s responsibility to get in touch with you as the next step if there is a match.  Let It Be Us is not a licensing agency or a child placing agency. Our function in the adoption process is to recruit foster and adoptive parents for the Illinois children who are waiting.

The first step in adoption from foster care is to obtain a foster care license. Visit our licensing map to find a licensing agency or an Illinois DCFS licensing office near your home.
